Start from a blank sheet of paper.
Forget about your existing product organisation structure.
Take your product strategy and product audit OR (if you don’t have populated artifacts for these) your OKRs for the last quarter.
Now:
* Rank your goals: in order of your certainty about ROI on the activities
* Estimate the ROI number and challenge yourself: how big is the investment in team time and salaries vs the revenue you expect to generate?
* List out the constraints you have: known code base constraints, tech debt, people skills
*Draft: a squad & tribe structure that would deliver ROI, and yield results
This can include all the things you’d like to do, but haven’t got time, or equally, it can be conservative, to ensure you do deliver. That’s your choice.
Don’t keep it identical to what you have, and don’t only include the existing personnel or the existing hierarchy.
Define which roles and levels you really need to drive business results.
