Affordability, expensing & group buying
Affordability
We continue to understand that our prices are not feasible for everyone.
We remain open to supporting people to access self guided memberships at a discount, where their circumstances warrant it.
To apply for a online membership scholarship to access Hustle Badger materials, get in touch at contact@hustlebadger.com.
Please include a link to your Linkedin profile, and tell us why you can’t afford our pricing.
We can only offer scholarships for online membership, these unfortunately aren’t feasible for cohorts.
Expensing
We expect most subscribers will expense Hustle Badger using their professional development budget.
Find a expense request template here.
Group buying
Group discounts for online membership are available for groups of 10+ people who subscribe from the same company at the same time.
We cannot currently discount cohorts. We do work with businesses to craft feasible price points for larger workshops.
For a broader view of our business offerings, please check out our Business Page.
For larger groups of subscribers, we can also arrange company invoicing.
Pricing philosophy
We’ve chosen a price point that:
- Most people can expense within their training budget easily
- People can afford personally if they don’t have a training budget
- Offers value for money
- Compares favorably to entertainment subscriptions like Netflix and Spotify
Pricing FAQs
Who should join Hustle Badger?
Hustle Badger is intended for product leaders and tech professionals looking to advance their career. People who love Hustle Badger tend to learn best by reading and by applying our classes in the real world (via exercises and templates).
What do I get with my membership?
This varies by membership tier.
Limited membership: users receive a weekly newsletter and access to free wiki articles and templates.
Online membership: Paid online members get access to the whole wiki, including all of our paid articles and templates, plus all our on-demand courses, including certificates. In addition they gain access to our Slack community.
Live access or cohorts: cohort members receive access to a specific cohort course, including relevant course material and certificates, plus instructor led sessions for the duration of the course.
Business: Business programs are bespoke. We work with you to determine the right mix of online access and private cohorts. Dependent on the curriculum we craft together, this determines the access.
We can offer group discounts for online access.
What’s the value of online membership?
The value of online membership is that you get total library access to all online materials, any time, and anywhere. That means any content theme, all templates, all Wiki articles, and all online courses.
You can enroll or download the content as many times as you like, as opposed to a single cohort course, which runs on a defined schedule. You can also earn as many certificates as you can complete courses.
How many courses are included in online membership?
All our self-paced, on-demand courses are included in our annual online membership.
Cohort courses are not included in our annual online membership.
We develop new courses routinely and launch to our community. In general, all cohort material will become available as an on-demand course, dependent on timelines. It just won’t include the instructor led sessions.
What’s the value of cohorts & why should I attend one?
We have heard from customers that some people prefer to be taught in groups, by an instructor, rather than guiding their own learning online, without a fixed schedule.
On our instructor-led courses there are routine sessions to help you stay on track, plus office hours to help you with specific concepts, or when you get stuck. There’s weekly classes and opportunities for Q&A.
We also operate an accountability system, with the cohort members committing to goals weekly.
However they are grouped around specific themes and content areas, meaning joining a cohort does not necessarily mean you get access to the full Hustle Badger online library. They’re also priced competitively to make them accessible.
What access is included in cohort membership?
You will gain access to the relevant material for your course as part of your cohort membership.
We will clearly state what platform access you get on the cohort page before you sign up.
However signing up to a cohort does not guarantee you access to Hustle Badger’s online library.
Does Hustle Badger offer group subscriptions?
Hustle Badger offers licence bundles to organizations looking to upskill. Find out more about Hustle Badger business offerings here.
Why aren’t cohorts included in online membership?
We’ve always wanted to make as many of our materials as possible available to as many people as possible. It’s for this reason that we have always had a low price for access to our self-serve content.
However the price point simply does not cover instructor-led teaching and library access.
For this reason we have decided to offer two products to consumers: online library membership and instructor led cohorts, and price them separately.
How does Hustle Badger help businesses?
Hustle Badger helps businesses with blended learning programs designed to upskill teams as a whole.
Typically these include co-design of a relevant training curriculum, plus a reading and exercise list, supported by private teaching workshops and cohorts.
We have supported a number of growing tech businesses with training. Get in touch with us to learn more.
What is the cancellation policy for Hustle Badger?
Users can cancel their online subscription at any time in their account settings. Should you experience any issues with your online subscription, get in touch with us at any time at contact@hustlebadger.com.
Once you have started learning on a cohort, you cannot cancel your slot, since places are limited, and you have taken a space which could have been allocated to someone else.
Will I still have access to Hustle Badger content after my subscription expires?
No. Similar to other subscription providers like Spotify, once you cancel your subscription, your access to the service expires. Any artifacts you create or download are yours to keep.
I’m having an issue with payment – how do I get help?
Can I expense Hustle Badger?
Many of our members expense their subscriptions. To help your L&D budget request, check out our template here.
I can’t afford membership. Do you have a scholarship program?
Hustle Badger offers discounted online membership to people who, for whatever reason, are unable to afford the full cost. You can write to us at contact@hustlebadger.com explaining your circumstances, and we’ll get back to you.
Why is the monthly option no longer available?
We’ve always priced in-line with the content volume and value we’re offering to our community. Over time that content and value has grown.
After a lot of debate we found it impossible to align our offerings to an opt in / opt out monthly low cost.
We needed to create parity of access across our customer groups, and treat everyone fairly. We also needed to reflect the costs of creating and serving this content.
We remain committed to the lowest possible pricing and will continue to price our offerings competitively.
If you currently have a monthly membership, nothing will change for you.
